Oregon Humane Society

The top videos I created, edited and posted on the Oregon Humane Society Instagram during my time as a marketing and social media assistant at the organization. All of my videos were curated by researching trends, reaching out / connecting with other shelters and seeing what worked for them, and a whole lot of creativity (and maybe some coffee).

Youth Volunteer Engagement Program

Part of my position for OHS was identifying gaps within our content and organization, then coming forward with a potential solution. One day when working with adult volunteers I noticed that the youth volunteers were watching the filming process and seemed eager to be included. I recognized the gap and quickly reached out to the volunteer department and created a program.

Youth volunteers that expressed interest in learning more about the social media and marketing team were invited to listen to a presentation led solely by myself. During which we explored social media trends, what other shelters were posting, community reach and engagement trends. The following week we had a handling practice session to make sure they understood how to read body language of the animals while juggling filming. From there we set up a day once a month to film and edit videos that they were excited about. Below are just a few of the videos that gained a lot of views and engagement.
